Royal regiment of scotland badge

The Royal regiment of Scotland  badge was shown at the Edinburgh Tattoo. This design was the combination and collaborative effort of serving officers led by Brigadier Andrew Mackay. Good advice from the Rt Hon Lord Lyon. The Royal regiment of Scotland badge had the Saltire of St Andrew along with the Lion Rampant of the Standard of Scotland. These are two prominent  symbols of Scotland. The cap badge had mounted a crown, in this is the Crown of Scotland. The  Royal regiment's motto is Nemo Me Impune Lacessit (No One Assails Me With Impunity) -This is also the motto of the Order of the Thistle, and was also the motto of 4 of the other Scottish regiments. This is a good quality badge and comes in a presentation box

!

The Royal regiment of Scotland badge came about with the joining of seven battalions: one of these was with the by the blending of the Kings own Scottish borderes and Royal Scots. Thee others are  each formed from one of the remaining battalion. The Royal Regiment of Scotland had been allowed to retained the hackles of the old battalions with the new numbered battalion designations as subtitles. There is however a common regimental cap badge, tartan,TRF, stable belt and head dress ( Glengarry) This allows them to keep some of the identity of the former regiments.
